Venue:
Barb-wire Ghetto Beach Community off Orchid road, Lekki Dec 2022. A community of over 3,000 people
About 100 underprivileged youths, teenage mothers, young widows, and a few elderly women attended the Hexatruss Foundation Youth Development and Empowerment Outreach
The community video shoot drive took over 50 minutes from one end of the ghetto to the other, showing the huge environmental and waste problems and poor state of living in the area
The number of teenage girls with children, young widows in hopeless situations, and jobless underprivileged youths are increasing with no signs of hope or help around..
The intervention program was designed to support them by partnering with funders and sponsors that can fund their fees to acquire job ready vocational training through our ” Learn A Trade, Learn A Technical Skill or Learn A Tech Program Scheme”
This edition was sponsored solely by Hexatruss Innovations Limited and the foundation board of trustees.
Our thematic strategy for the intervention program was called ” feedUp, skillUp toolUp* where we provided food stuff to the youths and engaged them on the need for relevant skill acquisition and our work tools support after training.
We got data of about 100 youths at the event, and we have begun the process of screening towards picking the 1st set of youths for vocational training list & place sessions after the mandatory soft skill training. After training tools support will be provided in line with our thematic strategy- FeedUp SkillUp ToolUp.
The opening intervention message was delivered by one of Hexatruss Foundation Directors- Mr Tosin OMOYAJOWO and supported by Engr Emmanuel OTOIJAMUN on the need for the youths and young widows to be ready and serious for screening, enlisting and posting to acquire job- ready vocational skills and tool support after the food distribution.
About 100 packs of raw food gifts were distributed – as packed foods stuff items and cash gifts was given to 30 youths as post Christmas food support with different photo sessions .
The food gifts in the pack were – A 5kg bag of rice, 1 bottle of vegetable oil, a pack of knorr seasoning, 5 sachett of tomatoes paste & some with spaghetti
